Unfortunately my tires don't make noise when they spin, but I'm pretty excited
to say that my car spins 3rd gear from 3500-6300rpm.
My stainless steel exhaust broke in half this morning. Coming home this evening I
punched it a few times, and every time in third the tires spun for about 3 seconds. The car has no bottom end, but from 3200rpm-> it pulls like hell!
Just wanted to share that with the rest of you. BTW the exhaust will have to be fixed on Monday.

I'm not shocked but excited. It may sound like bs, but it's not. I wish I could run an open exhaust legally. It sounds awesome!

ahh, yes... but you must tell us what kind of tires you're using that you're getting wheelspin into third. I can hardly get traction launching my 96 2.0 jetta, but that's because it's ridin' on some PHAT kelly charger tires.
So- what kind of tires are they, and how old are they?

205/40/16 yoko avid h4's
rubber has 30k on them, not much wear on them either

tires get hard as they get old... each time you heat em up, once they cool down they're a little harder than they used to be. I have a set of pirelli P7000's that aren't down to the wear indicators yet but they're pretty much ice skates.
BTW, what do you have done to the motor so far?

I do it to but I am running a g-60 setup in mine. Torque steer, wheelspin and tire smoke way in the redline in third gear. It amazes any unsuspected motorists and the muscle car groups think I am nuts. Japenese imports leave me alone here.

Not to be an a$$, but are you sure your not spinning your clutch? If your tires aren't making any noise while they're "spinning", it could be your clutch.
FWIW, I don't spin third gear with 250 whp, but I don't power shift, and I have a Quaife.
