When to get Jetta serviced?

Hi! I've had a 2001 VW Jetta Wolfsburg Edition since August (6 months now), and have driven it only 2,500 miles. Do I need to get it serviced only at 5,000 miles or the fact that I have had it for 6 months necessitates me to get it serviced now?
