I think I may have rushed into it. I threw a sealent on within 2 days of owning it brand new. I was trying to figure out why I was getting a blackness, or dirtiness coming off onto my towel, anyone have similar effect? I have a black car, maybe it is 'over spray' whatever that is?

Re: when was your first detail on new car? (enfi)

I waited about 5 weeks to seal and wax my car...would've done it sooner, except it rained every weekend.

k, cool. You know I hear people around here say that it is not wise to detail a new car. Could it be they are being very paranoid? My logic in saying this would be simply that the paint has already cured from factory and would not sustain damage from detailing. I would hate to go through the winter without a coat of something on it.

"they" say its better to wait at least 90 days, but I think thats an old wives tale from the older paints that did have to "breathe". Shouldn't be a problem with todays paints.
