I was so f*cking pissed. As much as I love my GLI, something falls off like once every two months. Last time it was the rear door handle trigger. This time, I put something in the passeger front and shut the door, *CRASH*, the glass on the side mirror FELL OFF and shattered on the ground! If I had noticed any problem with the glass previously I could have glued it no problem.
SO, now I need just a mirror glass, no need for any housing or anything like that. Does anyone sell that online?

yup, i got one the other day, $25 i think...heated power glass, however, is not cheap, they are $90USD /side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I paid roughly $23 per side for just the glass. If you only need the glass (not the round back plate) it's cheap. If you have heated power and need the backing plate it will be just under $100

Arrgh, I just went to the stealership. They want the list price, which is either $45 for the non-heated, or $90 for the heated. I saw the cost on the screen and it said $21.xx.
I guess I'll start looking for parts cars...
For some reason, VW dealerships seem to be alternating between charging cost, and retail. A few months ago I wanted an A3 linkage and they wanted $18, the cost. Now they want retail for the mirror. Anyone know why that is?

I'm not looking forward to moving for the fact that I have to find another dealership that charges me cost again
