Me and my roomate are going to go find a christmas tree...not like a tree farm or some bullpoop...we just want to go into the snowy forest and chop down a Noble fir for our living room. So there are 2 requirements: snow and noble firs. Anyone have any suggestions...we were thinking Diamond lake, but that's a long drive. Any suggestions???

Just consider that you'll probably be breaking one or more local, state, and or federal laws if you don't own the land.

I believe you can buy a permit for $2. I know my family did it a couple of years ago up here. You can go onto state land not national forest land. You might want to check with Oregon Dept. of Forestry. They should be able to steer you in the legal direction.
Crazy Oregonians, can't pump your own gas so want to go steal trees!

Actually, where I grew up (Salem)..there was a doctor who lived across the street from my grade school, had this 50's style house with floor-ceiling living room windows which could be seen from the street below. He'd always get either one giant tree or two trees, and put the top 3-4 feet on the roof, all decorated and lit. Perfect illusion--looked like the tree was going thru the ceiling.

*shrug* We've got great trees (not the cone-shaped trees, though--ick) in the U-cut farms (Zerbrug's, etc.)..
If you really want to, you can just cut one down near the property and run off with it

If you want to do it Griswald style, you'll have to get the tree roots and all
