Look around first though, I think I paid approx $1800 for my pistons, when I could have gotten them for about $900, denon does have them but others do , cheaper too

The 2.9l pistons *used* to be priced around $400 a set. When I went looking for them during my engine build, they were up around $1200 a set and there were only two known sets in the country. AFAIK, these pistons stopped being manufactured and are in short supply. I wasn't about to pay that much for a set of factory overbore cast pistons, so I went JE.

Hell yeah **as I cry my eyes out**
thats what I thought, Im not sure if thats exact though, but I definitely overpaid, I looked around for a while, but the guy who built my engine didn't know that much about vr6 performance stuff, so I would look for the best prices and then refer him to what I found. At the time though I believe we called several different places who stated they had them but no one did, and basically I was a victim of the law of supply and demand I think. But still it sucks to pay a lot and then find them cheaper.

well if the factory 2.9s are close to the price of a set of je's then i might as weel go with som je's i wanted to do a 3.0 but i thought 2.9 would be alot cheaper but it doesnt look like it? do je pistons include rings and wrist pins? and what compression ratio could i run 11:1 or 3.0 on stock compression?

Try Jim Chu, he's got a set left, I think, check his post in the MK III forum. Also, look a post up from his, badmonkey has set as well. Jim's just trying to move his, and he's into the good stuff, so you know it's quality. Believe they are Ross or JE, 9:1 CR.

I just recently got my 83mm 9:1 comp JE Pistons with Total Seal rings and shipped to my door for $775. Give me an e-mail and I'll let you know where to get them.
