Re: where to test my gti's 1/4 miles? (CalDub)

'Sup, man? This is Kyle from Art Center... we met at Chris' GTG.
We usually roll to the California Speedway, but the next race isn't until January. It's $20 I think (maybe $25). You need to have your drivers license and insurance and registartion information to race. You also need to be wearing long pants. You don't need a helmet unless you're 13.99 or under.
Last time we rolled to Carlsbad to drag race. It's 22 bucks and a hell of a drive (100 miles one way
). They require a helmet and that's about it, no matter how fast you are.
There's also Palmdale. I've never been there. People say it sucks.
Here's some links:

Good luck man! Drop me an e-mail if you want to go race

Irwindale's an 1/8th mile track, isn't it? I know Rialto is. 1/8th mile tracks are really good to work on launches, but not much for time slips. Nobody knows what 10.3 1/8th mile times translate to.

Re: where to test my gti's 1/4 miles? (Mister MK4)

Car and driver states that the GTI GLS 1.8T does the 1/4-mile in 15.9 seconds and does zero to 60 mph in 7.3. Therefore if you did 10.3 in the 1/8-mile you would have to increase your speed by 35% in the last 1/8 mile in order to achieve 15.9 seconds. By doing the math tells me that you were going about 65 mph at the 1/8 mile mark, which means that you would finish the 1/4 mile doing about 88 mph.
This is just an educated guess??? I think I could come up with a more accurate formula if I knew what the speed was at 1/4-mile mark. If I find more I will put together a program where if you know your 1/8-mile speed and time it will calculate the 1/4-mile for you.

Re: where to test my gti's 1/4 miles? (GORILLA)

Actually my best times were racing 1/4 mi as opposed to 1/8th mi (the 1/8th mi runs were when I first got my car). But on my best 1/4 mi run, my 1/8th mi was 10.148 @ 68.57 mph. Can you guess my 1/4 mi ET and MPH?
I'm curious to see if this works.
