but seriously... they are all just filter's on a stick... its personal choice really
The new ECS CAI is pretty cool and decent priced,
there is a threat on a CAI challenge type thing somewhere on here.

Filters on a stick or tube... I guess that's what we learned from the CAI
challenge / comparison testing (that they have difference but it is so
small that it is ignorable). How about other variations than just
filter on a stick, like RAM air setup? Didn't someone home-make one
here on this forum?
BTW, GruppeM has RAM air kit for VW R32. Any previous BMW owner
will recognize this Japanese company for its proven performance and
ridiculous price. Anyone tried this one yet?

I like the EIP CCAI and Bypass valve just incase there is some standing water.

I like the EIP the best. I am running the carbonio though much simpler install and a few dollars left in my pocket. With the money I saved I got the EIP dogbone & SS.
The carbonio sound cool too. If you go this route it is hard to install the AEM bypass valve.

I like my air-ram-super-charged-3" dryer ducting CAI. For 15 bucks and an hour of labor you can't go wrong....
Now, let's hope the boys at the dealership won't get too pissed when they are tearing in my transmission today....

I have the typhoon intake which is a short ram design...not supposed to give the best numbers but you can avoid hydrolock that way, plus is looks nice under the hood. I also just had koni coilovers installed, and they are great! Yeah, like tony the tiger great!

After extensive research, the only REAL selling point (aside from price) that set one brand apart from the others was Carbonios claim that carbon doesn't conduct heat, thus keeping the air cooler all the way up the tube. So I bought it. I used to work alot w/ carbon fiber it's a legit claim.

The air is flying through that tube so fast, it aint' got time to "heat up." The whole deal on our car is not so much the cooler air (unless you cheezed out and got that crappy k&n thing in which case, why bother) it's eliminating the painfully small air intake chamber that's stock on our cars.
