I am considering purchaseing a short shifter and an exhaust. I want to know which one is better? I hear Neuspeed for the short shifter and TT 2.5" for the exhaust? What do you think? Thanks

oh, heres the dead honest answer in relation to the short shifter.
Buy the cheapest one you can find, when you recieve the item youd be kickin yourself in the ass if you paid more than 45 bucks for it..... They are all basicly the same.
Good luck

Well if you want a really cheap short shift kit, make it yourself. You don't have to be very handy to figure it out. You should be able to find flat bar (3/16x1") at Home Depot etc. Remove the shift linkage piece that runs front to back on the car, it has two bends in it and a pin with a clip in one end and a bolt on the other. Bend the new piece to match the shape of the original one, this could be the only tough part if you don't have a way to heat up the metal. Cut the new piece 1" longer than the original piece and drill a hole in the new piece the same distance from the end as the old piece, now 1" longer. You can try other lengths and mulitple holes, just be sure not to go to long as you will hit the side of the tranny case if it is too long.
I have been trying to locate a picture of the past I am talking about but with little success. If someone can post a picture, I'm sure it will be much clearer what I am talking about.
Give it a coat of some nice paint and no one will know you made it yourself for about $5

Not entirely true. Some offer a higher percentage of throw reduction. I'm not sure on the numbers, but I THINK that my ABD has a 25%,45%,65% reduction settings. Whereas all others only offer 20%, 40%, 60%. Can anyone verify this?

just go custom, you can get a descent backbox for almost nothing, i went with flowmaster($50), sounds really cool and hardly any restriction. then go through jc whitney to get some stainless flex tubing find a welder and whammo cheap rustproof exhaust for about 100 bucks

To a point yes ..... the Komposit is in a totally different class and replaces your entire shift linkage. Expensive but HIGHLY worth it.
Also - exhaust .. TT isyourbest bet. Stainless steel 2.25" unless you are definately going forced induction -- soon. Ifyou get a 2.5" and no forced induction you may LOSE horsepower
