im running H&R race springs 1/8" lower than vogtlands' and i rub in the front when making hard corners with a bump in the middle... the simple fender bolt diy fix deal fixed this problem... im also runing 18/8/et 43 wheels.... so now you have a complete compairisen...

Depends on what offset your rims are and how wide.
if 35 (Which I have) go with 215/40 18. No rubbing at all
if 45 then do 225/40 18. You can still go as low as you want.
I'm running Yokohama Parada Spec 2 and it blends really well with the car.

18x8.5 et 45 is what ill be running with vogtland 2" drop... so i should be okay with 225/40/18 right?

you people like streach don't you. i would go with a 245 with as thin a tire that you can find but at the same point you'll haev a rougher ride, but you'll keep the added traction that the wider wheel has

On a lowered MKV running 8.5" ?
245/35/18 is the lowest profile 245 width tire you can buy if I am not mistaken.
Overall tire height on a 245/35/18 and a 215/40/18 is almost exactly the same (depending on brand)
The stretch will be needed for fender clearance.

18x8.5 et 45, Vogtland 50mm drop, 225/40/18 no rubs, no cuts.

As you can see you could run 10's and not rub... 50mm is not very low...
just what i needed... thanks meng!!!
p.s.
russ, what happened to the powder coated LMs?
