Time to do the timing belt. which kit have you peeps used? the german auto parts kit or the ecs kit? I see the ecs one comes with the cam, crank seal, motor mount bolts and coolant. not a bad value but not sure about the OE parts
I got the MJM kit, no problem with the parts, but ordered around x-mas and had a hell of a time getting them to actually ship it.
Order processing from 12/24 through 1/1 was hectic due to a short staff. We sent out an email with an apology/explanation to each and every one of our customers. If you did not receive this email, let us know.
On the 1.8T timing belt kits: we have them in stock from $174.95 with free shipping (a total of FOUR different kits available for MK4 1.8Ts).

We make every effort to get orders out same day. Most of the time we're able to pull it off (but is obviously dependent upon how busy we are). http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

are you going to replace the cam and crank shaft seals?
I'm going to be doing my timing belt and wasn't sure if I should replace the seals. In the Bentley service manual it doesn't say to replace them
I compared both kits from ECS and MJM, I have to say that MJM has better pricing for the same kit http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Re: which timing belt kit to go with (quicksilver337)
I got this one (link below) Timing Belt, T-belt Dampner, Tensioner Roller, Tensioner Gasket Kit, Water Pump Metal Impellor, Thermostat Housing, Thermostat,Alternator/Serp Belt and 2 camshaft seals. usually very skeptical of Ebay but I did my research and made sure before I made my purchase...All good brand names Bugatti water pump, Behr thermostat, Continental timing belt and serpentine belt...All parts are OEM. Paid only $209.00 they are going for $220. now but still a good price IMO... Oh Yeah and free shipping and 1 year warranty http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW
go with MJM's kit, i got mine from there and the service and product were excellent. oh, and no matter were you buy it from make sure it has a metal waterpump.
