Re: whisteling noise from trans or somewhere (DUBBN)

bump this back up, i have similar issue, and im not going to start a new post.
my trans starts to whistle when the revs are held at one point. happens whether its in gear , or when the clutch is pressed.
ex: when i am driving or holding the throttle at 2000 RPM.

Re: (GreenGlobbing2.slow)

this normaly would only happen to me when i started the car in the winter, and then it would only last 2 min. at most. but i woent to the g/f cottage this weekend (2 hour drive) and it was consistent durring the last 15 min of the drive. let the car sit for an hour or so but it didnt go away.
kinda freakin me out, and i dont have time to go to a mechanic till tuesday

anything i can check or look for myself?

sure its not a small exhaust leak?
my corrado did the same thing under load, but didnt make a sound when just revving. after a while, the flange bolts loosened (or the gasket gave out more) and it would make the sound just from revving.
get under there and check your flanges/connections and for any rusted through spots.
