White TT.....is this rare?

ok, my neighbor has a white TT with quite a different combination. He has the 225 coupe model in white, but he had the 180 version wheels (6-spoke) that are painted white to match his car. Is this a special edition TT that Audi produced or did he just buy the 180 wheels and get them painted to match his exterior? I am certain that his car is a 225. I haven't seen any other TT's around here in white, are they rare? Thanks

The 6 spoke wheels are standard on the 2002 TT's with the 5 spoked forged being a $500 option. White is rare - no one like it

The 180hp TT will have 1 exhaust tip - the 225 will have two. Easiest way to tell the difference.

Actually, I have the 2002 Audi brochure and for the TT, the stock wheels are 16"
silver painted 5-spokes while the optional wheels are the polished 17" 5-spokes like they have always been standard on the 225. The guy's car I am talking about (my neighbor) is an '01 I believe with the 6-spoke wheels that are found standard on the 180 version, but are painted white.

I have noticed that my local Audi dealer just got a '02 225 coupe in white. That makes two white TT's around here.

White TT...one of the least attractive choices. There is one in my town.

I've seen a couple white TT's on a local dealer's lot (McDonald), but none on the streets

White TT's are very real and I have seen them, I was refering to the the white color matched, wheels. That is not something I have ever seen.

My partner and I saw one yesterday, and we both thik it was our first.
I liked it a lot, but white is my favorite color for 360Modena's too.

Yes, I believe the 5 spoke 16" wheel is the stock wheel for all 2002 TTs. The 6 spoke 17" wheel is from the premium package. The 5 spoke forged 17" is a separate option for the 2002.
Unless he got the car painted himself or special ordered it, his TT is a 2002. First year the color was offered.
Anyway, the white wheels probably make it more unattractive.

I kinda liked the white one I saw. Not nearly as much as the ones in my color.

No, it's a regular color now for 2002.

21lbs for the polished forged alloys and 27lbs for the 6 spoke standard 17's.

I've never heard or seen anything about color matched wheels on TT's...and the dealership I work for usually tries to get the rare/cool stuff.
