I'm trying to figure out how to set this up. Is there a socket in the left rear tailight to put the bulb? The stock fog light switch has three positions. It's true that they are for: fog lights off, front fogs on, and front and rear fog on?

Yes you can hook up rear fogs on your switch. But you do need the euro 3 red-bulb taillight assembly and bulb holders. US spec tails have no provision for a rear fog.

I've heard US Jetta's are capable of an easy installation of the rear fog. True or not?

i was looking at that on my jetta... there is a spot for a bulb, but there is no hole in the back (reflector) of the taillight for the bulb. I was thinking of drilling a hole... but i'm afraid i'd go too far and hit the lens... i'll get the courage some day.

I did it on mine. All you need is a euro bulb holder for either side. I did both. Wire it up to the switch and you've got dual rear fogs. They're also good for tailgaters
