I found an interesting example that might be worth looking into. I'm wondering what sort of insurance and financing hurdles I'll have to jump if I do indeed buy it.
I
ve been assured that it's mostly carpet damage, and it has been completely reconditioned. I was given the VIN to run through a dealer to see if the factory warranty will apply.
Thoughts? opinions?
Thanks!

Re: Who has experience with flood damaged / rebuilt titled cars? (sleddog)

Insurance/financing should not differ from those you'd get on a similar used car. Keep in mind, however, that R-title almost always translated into very poor resale value.

Flood damage is worse than just a rebuilt wreck. If the car is put together well it may be worht it, depending on the car, the age, and the mileage. No one will loan money on a rebuilt title and if you buy it the "rebuilt" stays on the title so resale is next to impossible. Look under the dash for dried mud on wires, if you see that "let the buyer beware"!!
