As some of you might be aware, some Golf's, Jetta's and Beetle's have a recall on the brake light switches originally installed on the vehicles.
If anyone is unaware of this recall or are unsure if you vehicle requires it, please feel free to IM me and I can check it out for you.
I will only answer to IM's NOT posts.

Got my letter, brakes and lights are working fine. I am wondering if I should even bother...

Yes.. Because it could fail at ANY time, that's why it's being recalled..

My car is a 99.5, if it was going to fail, it should have done it by now. I'll just keep the part thats working... when it fails, I'll get it fixed..under the recall

I wonder what would happen if you were to get rear-ended cause the switch failed and the insurance company found out about the recal and that you had disregarded it! Could it get messy??
