Re: Who here is running 17" MM Spyders??? (VRSIX POWER)

I'm runn'n Milla Migalla (er...hard to pronounce
) Spyders in 15's. I think they're nice wheels, and they come with a hub centric adapter so they go on properly (at least from the tire rack). I'm running them with Neuspeed Sport Springs in front, and some sort of threaded blue shocks in front (Bilstein maybe), with Kuhmo 712's. So far, very nice.
The only thing I wish is that they stuck out a little more for that agressive look...but I'm not sure if they can be ordered at the same cheap price with a smaller offset to accomplish that look. Also, I wish I went with 17's.
Enjoy!

RedRocket,
I wish I could trade you, but I've seen those enkie's on 2nd gen Mr2's and they fit that car p-e-r-f-e-c-t, believe it or not. I'd try selling it to an mr2 owner...I'm not sure if it's the same bolt pattern, but there's always adapters!
Good Luck!

VRSIX,
The Spyders are a nice quality rim, and look at home on a Corrado - Nice choice.
A few concerns -
1 - they are heavy! 24lbs or so per wheel for a 17X7. You will surely feel increased braking effort.
2 - they are soft and bend/break easily. Tire rack offers replacement wheels for 1/2 price. This has come in handy at least once.
As long as you keep a close eye on your tire pressure you should be ok. I had to run slightly higher pressures than I like. (38-40psi)

mpaster what suspension are you running?
I plan to go to the GTI Drivers Edition brake conversion too, so I braking won't be a big problem.
Thanks all.

Franics,
I bought the Koni Coilovers from racesearch.com last year on sale for $900.
I have not been able to find a price that low since. The cheapest i have been able to find them in North America is $1396.00
But....
If you order them from TSR performance in the UK they will ship them to your door for $991.00
