It is water reistant, and easy to clean. I'v had it on my car for two months and the paint still looks pretty clean, although I would take it off if it rained. (I think it would be pretty bad if moisture did get trapped underneath it.
I forget the name of the material, but look it up in the DriverGear website/catalog.

Just got a VW one for my Jetta, I love it. Fits like a glove. The underside is soft too, I used to have one and it just seemed to harsh.

what about hail, tree branches and nasty weather damage? The VW seems to be thin against protection? Are these waterproof?

the ultimate would be a custom fitted goretex cover with microfibre lining.... even then though, car covers scare me... I wouldn't put one on unless the car was spotless....
so my dream car cover would be a garage... hell, i'd settle for a car port!
