http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif I was lucky enough to get one below MSRP, but I am the service manager here at West Houston VW. We do have some on the ground available for immediate delivery at MSRP I am told by our GSM!!!!!!!!! I must say I love the car - I had the 1st Audi TT quattro back in 2000! but this is faster, the TT was 180 hp.
Nobody in the Bay Area is doing MSRP right now, but I have been told by2 dealerships that if I wait for about 5 weeks or so, they will do it. One dealer has 50 r32s on order, and they sold their first 5 of 8, they expect to see some lot time on the rest of their shipment
VW Gallery in Norwood Ma. got their first R32 (Blue w/black leather int.) about two weeks ago. They listed a $3,500 "ADM" (additional dealer mark-up). The following week the "ADM" went away. Now they are selling for MSRP.
The car lacks an armrest and a spare tire (fix-a-flat and a compressor don't cut it for me). The car should have a full spare at least. The seats feel great. The pedals seem to be spaced a bit closer (that would be good), but that may be an illusion caused by the aluminium. The paint sucks (orange peel-so what else is new). I have a deposit on a red or silver R32, but without having a test drive, I am still on the fence. THe R32 will cost me my 2002.5 GTI VR6 plus about $12-13K. That money would be better spent on suspension and other upgrades on my '97 M3 and the GTI. I'm afraid that when I drive the R32, all rational thought will replaced with a single minded desire to own the car. Anyone interested in purchasing the GTI or the R32?
