i took my car in so they could check my problem with the headlights.
and their answer was, sorry we can't look at it because it's european parts.
i would call Germany and male an appointment there!
HOW STUPID IS THAT!
seriously... that is one of the biggest reasons i hate Kansas!
i wish i was back in Turin!
i need beer!
I don't think it's an 'indeed' problem at all. It's a VW part, so VW dealers should support it. It'd be different if we were talking about non-OEM parts, though.
If your dealer won't help you with your OEM parts, find another dealer. Mine hasn't made a fuss so far over that or anything else.
Dealers are in business to make money. TIME is money.
They draw a very broad, sometimes unreasonable line, like "nothing except US-Spec VW parts will get our attention."
Ecode lamps v. US lamps??? Yes, it's a bit unreasonable, but lets say you custom-converted your drivetrain to 4motion? Should they have work on that?
So a over-reaching policy is made so dealers won't have a gray area on stuff they hardly ever see/have to become proficient on.
Suck it up. It's part of modding cars.
