The forum logo at the top. 4 passats, back to front, b1, b2, b3, b4. Does the b4 have extra wheels on the back? Or have I been looking at this monitor for way too long?

Wow, I never noticed that. But my guess is that they only had half a picture of the B4 (maybe there was a B5 in front), so they used a mirror image for the other half. Heh, good catch, though! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

several months ago, we (the members here) were trying to decide on a pic for our forum. the 1st choice was a pic of a b3 sedan & a b4 wagon but then others pointed out that we were the Passat-All Other Models forum & it wouldn't be fair for the b1/b2 guys.
someone found a pic w/ (then) all 5 generations of the passats. the b5 was diagonal across the front of the b4. when it was cut out, it left half a b4. someone (ACD?) put a mirror image of the other half of the b4 & we got this pic:

only after the pic was posted, was the extra set of wheels noticed

*ahem* *cough cough* I found that wonderful picture... and someone else modified the B4 to look proper since the B5 was originally overlapping it. That's why there are extra wheels. I apopollogize for typos, had a few drinky-poos tonight w/ coworkers

Actually, we did provide a picture with the extra wheel removed, but for some reason they went for the one with an extra wheel. Wierd decision.

I think that must be that really rare Dually B4 that also had a 6.4Litre TDI. :&gt

I should still hav ethe picture and I may even have the one with the extra wheels removed. Heck...I can just remove them and resubmit the photo if people want.

Speaking of the color of the B4...what an odd color! It's kind of a baby blue and indeed a factory color over there. Not in my taste...

Naw, not storm grey. Grey is for Ford crown vics.

The B4 does look rather wide though.

Yeah... it's wide... it takes up way too much space in front of that B3!!!!

Umm- alittle to much time on our hands here ? I thought I was seeing something wrong with the picture for the last couple months- I would just there staring at the picture for hours wondering if it was me or the picture.
ps- Storm Grey is the best color of the B4's ( although there's a nice looking green one driving around here that looks real nice )

That picture has actually got too many wheels removed. You have removed the unwanted B3 wheel, and the rear wheel of the B4 too.

I disagree: Look at the Dasher and the Quantum! they dont have the rear wheels showing, because they are blocked by the fronts.. Where you say the rear wheel of the B3's Passenger side is, it is actually the FRONT Driver/side wheel of the Quantum. So why should the B4 show its rear wheels, when the others are not showing them? I say if the front wheels block the rears in the Dasher, Quantum and the B3, why should the B4 not hide them as well??
