Re: Why Why Why Why Why HELP (TommyC83)
Your idle problem is either corroded contacts, a vacuum leak, or a bad 02 sensor.
quote:

Ok, i am doing a bit of tuning up on my 1991 vw gti 2.0l 16v cis-e montronic. I want to do the check the idle fuel mixture but in the bentley it states idle during adjustment should be at 800 to 1000 rpms. Mine idles at 1200 rpms constantly. I have never seen it below that. What is wrong? or can i still adjust the fuel mixture to proper settings. BTW my motor has 264's PnP 50mm intake and exhaust, k+n and chip. what is the deal?????
Thanks for any help.

You bought this car from Mabe, right? If so, I wouldn't touch the fuel mixture. I bet it's already set perfect. The mixture hardly ever goes out of whack on a motronic car, unless it's messed with. Thanks for any help.
