Re: will a corrado steering wheel fit an 87 gti? (mixedpartsbmx)

i think the spindle is bigger on the corrado, i have heard of a few people putting them on 90-92 jettas cause they have the bigger spindle aswell, so im guessing it wouldnt fit.

Does this mean that the whole stearing calum (SP?) would have to be changed out, or is there a simpler way.

I think there is some kind of an adapter/ring inside that you can take out and it will fit after that...

no adapter ring. There is however a bigger spline that slides over the smaller spliine to make the later model steering wheels fit earlier model cars, contact http://www.gprparts.com
I got mine through them. It took about a week to get since they had to order it from Germany, but I got it. I think it was about 6$.

The adapter piece is 191 419 514 with a $9.45 list price. It is a little more than GPR, but it is no problem to get from the dealer. I have ordered them for the same purpose in the past for customers.
