Will S4 prices drop when the new model arrives?

Only saying it cause that was the case with the A4's (96-01).

Doubt there will be any new ones left. As with any VAG produt, depreciation hits hard with audi's too.

I was speaking to my Audi dealer and he told me that up here in Canada they had a discount on S4s, it was $8000 off list BUT they cancelled it so unless you bought one when that deal was on you are out of luck. Too bad the new S4 isn't going to be turbo'd

I'm not sure they will depreciate significantly. I think they're already depreciated quite a bit already. I'm purchasing a '00 S4 with <14,000 miles on it for $30,750. That car stickered at $42,000 two years ago. Besides, the new model is rumored to be a different beast, possibly V8 based NA engine.
I've heard alot of people claim they're hanging on to their twin turbos. There's alot that can be done for them in terms of performance that won't be available for a NA motor.
Also, bear in mind that the new S4 is unlikely to reach our shores until MY04. Perhaps a "Fast and Furious" type of movie will come out featuring Zerin's S4.

Resale values will go through the roof like they did with Supras.

if you think these depreciate hard.. take a look at an S class or jaguar.. hah.. once you get over 30 grand people can not see the difference between a 5k off a used car or a new car.. so the used cars have to drop a bit to sell. They would rather go new, so the bubble drops to sell new ones.. now that they are all used, and that we will never know when the new monster will be here.. it is hard to say on the value..
