I'm not sure they will depreciate significantly. I think they're already depreciated quite a bit already. I'm purchasing a '00 S4 with <14,000 miles on it for $30,750. That car stickered at $42,000 two years ago. Besides, the new model is rumored to be a different beast, possibly V8 based NA engine.
I've heard alot of people claim they're hanging on to their twin turbos. There's alot that can be done for them in terms of performance that won't be available for a NA motor.
Also, bear in mind that the new S4 is unlikely to reach our shores until MY04. Perhaps a "Fast and Furious" type of movie will come out featuring Zerin's S4.
Resale values will go through the roof like they did with Supras.
