Hi,
I got this cluster the other day. The guy said that he removed ir from a 88 gti.

I haven't removed my cluster so I ignore if the conector are the same.
I readed about the CE1 and CE2, and I just noticed 2 types of clusters:
2 big harnesses and 1 harness.

The cluster I've got has 1 big and 1 small harnesses.
Will this work in my 87 jetta GX? My car has a clock, but no tach.

Hell it'll fit. Even if it isn't a mk2 the shape will work with your dash. You may have to make modifications to the mounting points. You will also need to cross refrence the wires and then splice the plug and harness of the new cluster into your existing cluster wires. All possible if you have a Bentley Publishing manual.

Re: (Shaz8389)

thanks for the inputs.
very rare for me that hasn't clock, but it was cheap.
I'm not sure if it worth to change rpms x clock, but my cluster has white gauges and I don't like it any more...

may be possible to move the clock to the new cluster?

thanks again

I found this pics in the net, mine is the same:

the other:

I called again the guy who sold me this, and he says it was in a GTI 88-89. They look different...

well, as I see it now, I got a rare (wiring) and useless cluster for my car.
Maybe doesn't worth the re-wiring job.
Thanks a lot for your attention, I will look for another one

edit:
re thinking this, I will try to make it work. To get a CE1 cluster is around $90 USD in my ranch.
any useful wiring diagrams?

There's your diagrams. Or try looking at the online ETKA at vagcat.com
