I (like most people it seems

) recently experienced a broken window regulator. I was just wondering if anyone has confirmed that the replacement part that is going to be installed by the dealer (under warranty) is or is not a new, better engineered part?

i had one of the supposedly "new" ones as a replacement in my jetta, and it broke after 7 months. this one is yet *another* new design, according to my service writer (who is pretty well informed, decent guy).
we'll see. I will say this, it doesn't seem like the window goes down so hard when it reaches the bottom like the previous one did.
