Winterizing and more tranny q's

WHEW, finally got a tranny for the Jetta this weekend (thanks John!!!). I ended up getting a 9a from a '85 GTI. The questions I have about this tranny:
What clutch assembly do I get for this one? I have heard that the splines arn't the same since this is from a 8v, and mine is a 16v...
Does the 9A have the same problem with the rivits as my current 16v tranny?

Onto the winterizing subject. We finally got the first big snow storm of the year, and it's been colder than [email protected] ever since. I want to do a radiator flush, so hows the easiest say to do it? Do I have to worry about getting air bubbles in the head?
Please let me know.
Thanks in advance

same rivit problem. u need the 8v pressure plate.
easiet way to flush? drain the system fill with water. run for a few minutes. drain again and fill with water + some sorta rad flush aid stuff, sold at all auto places. now run again for 10 minutesish, watching the temperature, and drain. drain and fill over and ove rnow til it comes out clean. now fill with 50water/50antifreeze of phosphate free stuff. donzo.
easiest place to drain is to remove the lower rad hose.
