I was on the late afternoon on Tuesday, Hiway on VanWyke 678 in Queens, NY. Going North, I see in my rear was 2 sports car racing. What I saw was a hi-speed race, going through traffic about 90MPH+ The car in the lead was a black NSX with an aluminum spoiler, chasing it was a red corvette, late model. Not sure if it was Z06 and it can't be C5.
I decided to follow them as well, doing 100MPH+
I can say, man that NSX was dancing while the Corvette was trailing it but having problems weaving thru the light traffic. I'd say the skill of the NSX driver is better, however he definitely had some work done on that car, cause the car screams and the corvette sounded much silenced.
On a smooth stretch going to 6 lanes, we must be going exceeding 120mph, cause it was hitting 125+ on my GTI VR6 and those guys are pulling away from me.
What I witness was what MODs can do to a car vs production sports cars.
Man, that race was friggin phat.
I'm not gonna hav a chance with my GTI Vr6 but atleast I had skills to keep up for the most part.

I won't scold anyone about street racing even though I don't think it's too smart, but it is pretty cool to see a couple really nice cars really cranking.
Coming down 128 one sunny saturday I happened onto a very nice looking new Porsche 911 Turbo. He's cruising approx. 75mph which is average for 128. Traffic is light.
I pull behind him to admire the car for a while, when I catch a glimpse of red in my mirror and before I can say "holy sholy" there's a Ferrari Modena in the left lane. He slows next to the porsche and now I'm breathing heavy. The Ferarri emits a taunting horn tone at the Porsche who seems to be ignoring him. The Ferarri Winds up and begins to scream away when I see the rear end of the Porsche Squat down and they both leave me behind. I sped up a little to see who had the edge and the Porsche was still slightly behind. My heart was goin I slowed and exited... That really made my day.
I can see why Zanardi likes the NSX so much he has an edition after him. What I saw was that, it seems the vette was more tail happy and that driver had probs chasing that NSX smoothly at high speeds. That NSX must got some stiff suspension cause it got in between two cars and then pulled out and slingshot past them while the vette needed more clearance to weave through, the driver seemed to be less confident about the car's handling abilities. The vette had a nice sound when the gas was pumped but it was mostly silent.
