Volkswagen is now offering the new e-Golf as a specially equipped, emission-free police emergency vehicle, modified slightly from the version available at dealerships around the world. This fully operational suitable compact vehicle comes in the standard Police blue-silver livery with special signal conditioning and digital radio.  Before the e-Golf will begin its police duties, the model will make its world premiere at the International Trade Fair for Police Equipment in Leipzig on September 9th.

The Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand has a lot of experience in the construction of special vehicles, so there are are also driving school cars in addition to police and rescue vehicles with disabled driving aids.  For the first time the advantages of the electric drive have now been adapted to the specific needs of the police vehicle segment. Together with the special signaling system "SOSI" as well as modern digital radio, the e-Golf in police version meets all tactical mission requirements.

Simple electrical: The equally agile and efficient e-Golf leads in its class with a groundbreaking low fuel consumption of 12.7 kWh / 100km. The e-Golf is powered by a 85 kW / 115 hp electric motor that develops from a standstill with maximum torque of 270 Nm.  As a result, the Volkswagen achievers a speed of 60 km / h within 4.2 seconds, and after just 10.4 seconds the e-Golf is located 100 km / h.  The range is depending on the route profile, riding style and payload from 130 to 190 kilometers.
