Re: Would you be a WRC navigator? (finley)

Not only is it a scary ride, if you make the mistake you get the wrath of the driver cast upon you!
I was watching when Tommi's Navigator lost his place in the notes. Tommi was not reacting well too this... at all.
Would I do it??
Heck yes!

I don't think I could do it. I'm not afraid of speed when I'm driving, but I get a little edgy when its not me controlling the car. Let's just say I'd have to have a lot of faith in my driver.
If I did do it though, I wouldn't let you call me the "navigator." I'm a "co-driver." Respect!

They don't get to switch places. The co-driver has to follow the pace notes for the road stages just as he does for the race stages. They have to keep track of distances to get to the start of the next stage. The co-driver does, however, get to work the horn and wipers

It's all about the anti-nausea patch that many co-drivers wear behind the ear. I don't care how motion-sickness prone you are -- trying to read pace notes in a car that's being thrown around by a guy named McRae is a recipe for puking.
