hello all,
i bought a 92 gti 16v a few weeks ago...
No e-brake, was told it was JUST the cable i tried swaping it out..
no luck calipers are shot..
anyone with some new.. or SLIGHTLY used calipers get at me..
or a good website to get them.

ok someone pointed out on germanautoparts that they have a
"Rear caliper update kit. Updates your car to the lighter aluminum VW Mk4 calipers"
does anyone run this?
how is it?
can i still use mk2 disc?

anyone have the full mk4 kit? hoses n everything? i don't want to have to buy from 3 diff places to get the whole set up

thats what i had to do. vwbobd has the bees knees mk4 caliper setup. you'll have to re-use your old carriers, and you'll need new hoses and banjo bolts. GAP has them for, well, 25$ per hose 5$ per bolt. so 60 bucks for the hose setup.
you could always go to the yard and pull some calipers. just about any rear disc off any vw up to 2005 should work.
if you get new mk4 calipers you have to have those hoses. GAP also has a kit for 250. comes with everything you'll need to swap the calipers, does not come with carriers or pads.

maybe i'll just stick with the calipers for now and swap everything out over the summer just so i have a workin brake system for now... ahh i'm so on the fence with it all though
