Cliffs notes version:
Hole in exhaust & charge air pipe on a TDI. Replace both, because of loss of power from charge pipe issue. Good excuse to get that TT exhaust. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Replace the 6 year old battery. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Replace damaged grill. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Repair damaged headlamp tabs http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif (with wrong side kit thanks to dealer)
.
Reassemble front end of car. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Sit in car and try to bring TDI back to life with key.

No power to almost anything. No clock, no odometer, no dash lights, no overhead light. Just the little security light blinking away on the radio.
Fuse? Nope all are ok.
Relay? Late for work and don't know which to check first. HELP!!!

Re: WTF! PLease tell me its' a relay (lookanoob)

double check your conenctions at the battery. Make sure the battery is charged (yes, even if it's new).

Re: WTF! PLease tell me its' a relay (rs4-380)

Yep everything is nice and tight and before I put the battery in, it was sitting on a 5amp battery tender (monitoring type so no chance of overcharge) for a month and a half showing full charge.
I'm going to go through my bentley at lunch and see if I can solve it but by all means any help is appreciated.

verify that the battery ground (under the battery) is in good shape, and that the positive leads at the fuse panel (on top of the battery) is also in good shape.
then have the battery LOAD tested to rule it out...they can go bad, with no explaination.
