Re: Wut sound would a Broken Strur Bearing make??? (snuffyboy3)

A bad wheel bearing will sound like a strange humming noise, especially when you are going straight then suddenly turn the wheel. Sometimes you can pull the wheel off of the car, grab the top and bottom of the rotor, and wiggle it a little bit on its' x-axis.
The clunking sound can definitely indicate a bad strut bearing. The only way you can really tell is to pull the strut off and disassemble it. The bearing itself is fairly small and sits directly under that huge strut bushing at the top.
