What are you running for suspension? Has anyone had any issues with this size tire with any specific suspension setup?
I'm still running the stock suspension on my GLI but need to replace my V700's before next season. I'm thinking V710's so I'll need to step it up from 235/45 to 245/45. I'll probably keep the 17X8 Fliks that I ran last season.
I've been thinking about the Shine setup as I've heard great things (I don't care about the monster truck stance) but am also open to other opinions.

Yea enginerd runs the 245/45/17 v710s. I tihnk I'm going to upgrade to them for next season but I haven't totally decided yet. I've basically got 6 brand new 225/50/15 v710s here so it's hard to justify changing wheel/tire size right now.

will 15's clear (05) GTI brakes?

you need et38 or lower to clear the brakes but yes they can clear. I need spacers now (probably like 10mm too
) to keep tthe tires off my struts after installing the spindles and dropping the car a little though

In that case you will want to be using 15"x very wide to fit the recently announced, but not yet available, 275/35/15 from Hoosier. OD is supposed to be in the 22.8-23" range, same as the 205/50/15 and 225/45/15. If it were me running a MK4 in DSP or SM, I would run them up front and consider either the 225/45/15 or a 225/50/14 out back. No tire rotating but will give the balance you want and enough tire up front to really support all that front end weight.

That is exactly the kind of info I'm looking for, I wasn't aware that Hoosier is going to be putting out an A6 in that size...more to ponder. Thanks for the heads up.
Now to find a 15x10 that won't cost me a ton of money (CCW's $$$$). I'm overseas, and it's hard to measure my car right now...i'll have to figure out the appropriate offset.
I'm DSP bound for 07.
