Ok, here is your challenge. You have $7,500 and no car. This is all the money you get. What would you buy, and what do you put on it. We arnt looking for what your friend gave you, but ya can buy used parts. Would like to see the fastest, yet looking decent.
Wana see what turns up

I can pick up a well-used '95-'96 240SX SE for about $4000 if I shop around, square away the whole suspension for about $1500 (KYBs, springs, upper mounts, tension rods, bushings and such), get some 17"x8" Mustang Cobra wheels for cheap and mount 225/45 Azenis, quick upgrade the front brakes with cheap Q45 calipers and rotors, new pads and fluid.. should be good to go.
Alternately I could get a '97ish DOHC/5spd Neon for about $2500; add a lightweight battery, automatic TB, short intake pipe to a cone filter, new generation pacesetter header, Mopar PCM, ACR front swaybar, Mopar 22mm rear swaybar, Mopar Extra High Rate springs, Konis with eccentric bolts for camber, 15" kosei wheels and 205/50 Azenis again, pitch the power steering.

Needs little to nothing, except maybe new belts and a new set of tires.

Honestly, with had a cash budget of $7500, there are tons of cars you could get. Just look for cars priced at $5,000 to $6,000, to allow extra money for repairs and mods. A friend of mine recently bought an 86? vette off e-bay for $1500. He was going to use it for a parts car, but when he got it, it was in great condition, so now it's his son's car for high-school!

I could build a pretty damn fast MR2 turbo for $7500.
Find a dark color with paint in not the greatest of shape with some suspension mods already on it, $4000.
Hydra Nemesis 2 MR2t Plug & Play EMS = $1350 http://www.mrcontrols.com/products/nemesis.htm
Manual boost controller = $15 hardware store special!

Custom 3" exhaust = $200 any decent shop can do it
Spend the last $1935 on piecing together a bigger turbo kit and some used rims/tires. Used CT20b's can be had for around $700 and used TDO6 kits can be found for around $1000.

Then again you could just buy my car for $7500 without my Enkei RPO1's and the J-spec CT26 instead of the CT20b I have on it now.

And yes, I really will sell it for $7500 without the rims and CT20b. I need a Corvette baaaad!

$7500, I would get an S13 240SX coupe (preferably a base model) with a blown motor ($500), get an SR20DET ($2000), a nice suspension, Z32 brakes, some nice 16" wheels and tires.
Then I would have to save up for a Silvia front end and some nice seats and a decent stereo.

Fox body Mustang. I'd say SVO, but I wouldn't want one as the only car. The 5.0L is less finicky and is more supported. For $7500 you could have a solid car with tons of power, and have enough left over to make it handle and stop too.

This one's a 2.8L stroker putting out 350hp/400ftlbs to the wheels

If it were black, it'd be perfect

I'd get one of these (and keep it stock):

There's an AE88 5sp nearby that rumor says the owner only wants $600 for... it's in decent shape, in and out though it needs some love on the passenger headlight opener. Rebuilding it with the remainder of the budget would produce a helluva track car. I'm trying to convince my wife even as I type.

Wow that looks incredible... twin turbo? Details! I think it looks pimp (after a limo tint of course). http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I'd either get a mint 240Z and get some nice carbs, exhaust, and wheels for it

or I'd get a FC RX-7 Turbo in great shape for around $5k, get a coilover set, and a full turboback exhaust.
