Okay let's forget europe for a minute, and describe to me (with pics if you fancy) YOUR idea of the perfect NA styled mk3.
I'll go first: DE GTI VR6 (Jazz or Ginster obviously), FULL ABT Sportsline kit - widebody, front lip, grill, headlights, rear midwing, A24 18x8s with rears spaced 15mm. Slammed on H&Rs tucking all 4. SC'd motor with Schrick VGi. Recaro SRDs with stripped interior and colourmatched 3" cage. A little bit of ICE.
Closest match to this I can think of would be Lee's GTI or Tom's 4dr
What about you?

Re: Your idea of a perfect *NA* styled dub? (97VenomGTI)

i would have to agree, but i think d's old ride is close to perfect, now if it only had a turbo vr6 is what i would swap into it....imho perfection was there minus the engine.

Re: Your idea of a perfect *NA* styled dub? (Euro Flavour)

Herman and D's rides were both great examples as well to me, as well as Brad's GTIs both current and former, and Rich's Cabby.. but the ABT flares kick it up another notch for me

Charles Gti is at the very top of my list... as is Phatty. D's jet was built to perfection as well.
Although my favorite NA MK3 on the Tex has to be VWTech's cabby. Oh so clean!

Im agreeing with everything you say here Jason.....I think of Tom's car and the east coast flavor guys...Chris J., Brad1552, VWtechnician....etc.....
but Full ABT kitted cars are definately N/A style..... i rarely ever see ABT stuff on cars in europe...

ABTGOLF, your car is 90% of what I described anyway, so props for building your own 'perfect' car

Matt, you're car is like 50/50 between NA and Euro
You and your bastard car...

I can agree with every car mentioned by you guys

Peppy, that sounds more Japanese style than NA style..

Re: Your idea of a perfect *NA* styled dub? (LostBoyScout)

Herman's car was the epitome of NA Styling IMO. He put two-and-two-together to create a perfect represention of "classic styling with a sporty feel" Herman invented the Mk4 Lights, Kamei Grill, ABT Lip combo. Many newer dumbs have managed to re-capture a bit of what herman left us including my old ABT Golf, Chris Loper's and Daniel Irawan's.

1552 Design Cabrio is a legend sporting the ABT Kit with monster 18" ABT 24 and Porsche seats it was a stunner. Beatiful cabrio, I have yet to see another Cabrio in the same league.

I have to add that IMO Jason's Widebody Jetta was in a league of its own and the nicest Jetta to date "pre-geek hood". I never liked Doug's car very much, D's ABT Jetta would come a close second to Jason's Porsche Polar Widebody ABT Jetta.

Chris Jacovini's car is right up there with Herman's once again another ABT kitted car sporting another "Classic NA style rim" the 18" Kinesis. However, I never liked the geek hood on the ginster, its over done and hope a passing fad.
Finally, I think the newest and greatest addition to the NA VW scene would be Matt's Turtle (someone post a pic) it's an all original piece, love every bit of that car, much respect goes out to Matt for his creation.
I also appreciate:
- Steve Prendergast's Pzwo
- Charles Clean Black VR6
- Luk's Red Clean Smoothed Supercharged VR6
....the list could go on but these are cars that stand out the most in my mind.

I have to say that VWTech's cabby is very far into the same league

I think Herman's is one of the best example. Abt kit and 18s, S/C, Cup Mirrors, etc. before just about anybody else. I saw it at the AMS Barbeque a couple of years back and it was simply stunning.
Another is DubSix's GTI. What a gorgeous car...
