Watch: The Stig Lap a Taycan Faster than a Koenigsegg CCX

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Porsche is very good at making very fast cars. But they just. Keep. Doing. It.

In the latest episode of BBC’s updated Top Gear, the Stig drives the Taycan Turbo S around the Top Gear Test Track in just 1:17.6.

As you can probably tell from the footage, that’s very quick. But to put it in context, that’s 1.5 seconds faster than the Ferrari Enzo, nearly a full second faster than the Pagani Zonda F, 0.3 seconds fast than a Caterham Seven Superlight R500—which isn’t really a car, but is an engine with some wheels—the same time as a Koenigsegg CCX fitted with a wing specifically designed to tackle the TGTT, and is less than a second off the W16 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

All of which is to say, it rips.

You can also see some less quick, but perhaps more TV-friendly footage of the car as Chris Harris drifts the Taycan around the same track.
