Hey y'all I was hoping someone can help me get a better idea of what I'd need to replace if I change out my turbo. I'm doing an engine swap (same 1.8t, the old one had it's timing belt break, RIP) and I wanted to replace my turbo since it's up there in miles anyway. If I put the same model turbo in I shouldn't have to replace anything else? Or if I went up a size would I need a new intercooler/exhaust/etc.? Thanks for the help!

What year 1.8T is in the car? Early ones came with a K03, later was the K03s. If you swap like for like, nothing needs to change. If you were to put in say a K04, you'll need a tune and some supporting mods. There are other turbo options as well. A lot of what you would need to change depends on what turbo you end up with.

It's a 2002 AWP engine code on the original, the one on order I haven't pulled the trigger on yet and I don't know the year or code. I'm pretty much just gunna do stock rn to save money. But a regular KO3 or KO3s wouldn't need anything?

Yes sir you won't need anything to change anything. But while the turbo is off replace the oil drain gasket on the pan and the turbo. Replacing the turbo to manifold gasket would be a good move as well.
