Yeah but for an entry level econobox it should do more like 40. My 90 Camry got better gas mileage than your car, by 2-3 mpgs. http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif

Hyundai/Kia may be making HUGE strides in quality, etc, but Daewoo is still in the 80s/90s Korean "Americans wouldn't know quality if it ran right over them, so we'll just sell 'em crap" mode, funded by "we've been selling 'em crap for 100 years" GM...
I would not buy a Daewoo, or any non-Corvette Gm product from the US or Korea if my life depended on it...and it just might.

Well, yeah, that's a definite possibility, but my confusion is that we already get the Korean-built Aveo. China already got a better-looking Buick Century than we did, so it wouldn't surprise me if we got stuck with the non-facelifted Aveo too.

That would suck, this Aveo is much better looking than the one we get. Maybe we'll get it in an upcoming mid-cycle refresh.

I doubt they will make much of a difference globally. Besides, the article doesn´t say that all Aveos will be made in China, only that the Chinese ones will be made by Shanghai-GM. The majority of the export Aveos might still come from Korea.
