Re: Getting cut by the Rado!! (BiboRado)

While replacing my hoses with samco's i ran into those two little bastards basically in the engine. Not only did i have to pull of the front end and swing away the radiator the space to work with was minimal. Then they wouldn't come off and the hose clamp broke, so im pullin on them with some needlenose pliers, my grip slips and i punch my radiator. Probobly would have needed a couple stitches in my ring finger, but i battled the healing. Now I have some black stuff under my scare

Re: Getting cut by the Rado!! (KidCorrado)

Loosened the skin off two of my fingers trying to get the coolant drain plugged loosened up after I broke it loose with a screwdriver. Couldn't keep using the screwdriver cause it was stripping out the plug. Didn't succeed. Ended up pulling a hose to drain the coolant.
I usually leave my passenger shoulder belt unbuckled when I don't have passengers. I have stabbed my head more than once on the exposed prong on the mouse tracks. Never too severe, but definitely broke the skin and hurt a good bit.
Cut up the fingers a bit while moving around some wires in the dash at the radio recess. The Alpine deck was quite deep and needed some more room for the wiring harness. There are some sharp edges back there!

If you do any amount of work on your car yourself, you should have left behind at least 2 pints of life juice now to the cause. And consumed at least 50 pints of happy juice in the process or out of frustration

Re: Getting cut by the Rado!! (Syncronicity)

doing the body work on my car has cut my pretty good a few times. the doorjambs caused me 2 good cuts 1 of which probablly required stitches but never found out. My hands just a little more lumpy now. Its all good it just makes me not want to sell my car that much more. How can u sell anything that costs you tons of money, mental anguish, pain, scarring and blood.

Re: Getting cut by the Rado!! (ahbroody)

Tonight pulling off an screw insert cover, got under my fingernail and made it bleed, worst stinging pain...
Make it worse, after I went in to clean up I forgot about it and used the fingernail brush to scrub away grease. That felt even better...

Re: Getting cut by the Rado!! (GKONYA)

only one or two from the C so far... but last night installing a cam in my friends probe with him I tore my hands to shreds. little cuts, but like paper cut cuts. There is like1" between the passanger side of the engine and the fender well... and they expect you to fit a ratchet or wrench down there to take off the pulleys and whatnot to get to the timing belt. Needless to say, we left his old timing belt on for the time being.

Re: Getting cut by the Rado!! (BiboRado)

ummmmm my left index finger is missing some skin from a couple of days ago when i was trying to change one of my cruise vaccum lines. the little fan on the alternator got my elbow last week, not too bad but all together i've probably seen blood out of my hands about 20 times from times working on my car.
The funnyist thing: I drove biborado to the hospital laughing my ass to poops about how freaked out he was. came back and put his car together in no time. I'm still laughing

Re: Getting cut by the Rado!! (redrocketrado)

I put an impact hammer's pointed bit through the webing between the thumb and index finger while working on a friend's G60. Funny thjing is that he worked at a hospital and I had to pick him up anyway so I kept working until the time came to instal the stitches/pick him up.
Then there was the time when I was rebuilding the front end of my car and installing a new motor. Well I was picking up the old motor haphazardly and almost sliced off the tip of my finger. Just took half the nail. thing was it was very greasey and the doctors had to use a scrub brush to clean the wound

anything that does not involve the hospital or repeated trips to get new dressing from a store doesn't count as a wound

Only a car fanatic would use the phrase "instal the stitches."

The only permenant mark I have from my Corrado is a burn scar on my right forearm. It matches the teeth on the little timing gear on the g60 charger - I was heating it with a propate torch to pop it off, and I reached over it to pick up a tool. . . bad mistake. It didn't hurt much, but it looks *really* cool.
The coolest part was when I had a row of little rectangular blisters the next day. It looked like I'd been branded with a barcode or something.

Re: Getting cut by the Rado!! (SaabFan)

My Corrado hasn't turned on me yet(except for those damn auto seatbelt things

), but my dad's truck did. While wet sanding a new fender, I managed to slice the bottom side of my hand almost down to the bone on a sharp edge. I didn't get stitches, but should have. I now have a nice conversation piece though.

Re: Getting cut by the Rado!! (G60ING)

how bout the time i was installing my new ti pedals. was standing up to get a tool, turned around and ran into the corner of my drivers side door. big gash above the eye....
or just having come back from running the corrado hard with my new cat/exhaust installed, i crawled under the corrado to check for rattles. put my two fingers on the cat (i know, i know) and burned my fingerprints off. yea, that one hurt.

Re: Getting cut by the Rado!! (crez)

The day the paseenger front wheel came off on the interstate at 90 MPH.
It crushed the fender and caused part of the bottom lip to split at one of the bolt holes. When I grabbed onto the lip to straighten it, the metal came back together and pinched a huge chunk of skin off, right on the inside of the end joint on my middle finger. Must have been a sight, me, jumping around, screaming at the top of my lungs at passing traffic, blood flinging eveywhere, car sitting on it's brake disc, wheel bouncing down the damn road, god I wish someone had a camera.
