I hear the one after that is supposed to have an exhaust that faces the front of the car so you can really feel connected with the R
I want the exhaust to come out in the cabin, personally. Rear exit exhausts suck, other people get to enjoy the sound of my engine while all I get to hear is WOOOOOOOOOOOSH.

A) 2015? Wow, so much for waiting 4 years for a Mk7 and OEM obsolescence.

B) If we're going crazy with the exhaust, I want at least some piped into a mask I can wear while I drive.

I actually prefer the dual center exhaust. It adds a bit of exclusivity to the R. To many cars now have
quad exhaust.

likely just the Mk7 GTI Concept that VW is supposed to be showing in Berlin sometime early September. Just happens to have Talladega's on it in this shot.

Not according to MotorAuthority!:D

From what I have gathered, the Mk7 GTI is going to borrow from the Mk6 R, so perhaps motor/turbo and Haldex system to compete better with the WRX, MS3 and ST. Then the new R could borrow the RS badge and become the Golf RS (the first VW to bear the Audi RS badge) and share parts with the TT RS. In this case, I would die of happiness.

The GTI would now be priced accordingly to the competition. In Canada you can easily get a $40,000 GTI, at that point, why are you buying it and NOT the R?! So the GTI at that price, then the R to go up to $42-45,000 would make a lot more sense.

Maybe they are changing it to a quad exhaust to make room for a larger blinker fluid reservior and upgraded muffler bearings.

Seriously tho, maybe tt-rs motor for the 2015?

Shush you!:p

That was supposed to be our Canadian secret. And according to VW.ca you can spec a GTI to within about $300 or $400 from the R.. (Of course that's with the added luxury? of not rowing your own gears)
