2010 Jetta Wolfsburg, First upgrade should be?

Hey,
I was wondering what should my first upgrade on my wolfsburg be? I was looking at something to help the turbo out or give it more power.
What is it?
How much does it cost?
How much power does it create, or how does it benefit the car?

Thanks

Congrats on the new car.
Your first upgrade should definitely be GIAC software.
With GIAC you'll gain a massive 40-47 horsepower and 90 lb ft of torque at the crank with no compromises in driveability or reliability.
The software costs $550.00. Installation charges vary depending on what shop does the install, but it shouldn't be more than 1 hour of labor.
GIAC also gives you the option of adding additional programs; Stock mode, Race Gas, Valet (Low Power) mode and more; and switching between them on the fly with their handheld Flashloader. Taking your car to the dealer for warranty work? Plug in the Flashloader, switch into stock mode and your good to go. Going to the track and want some more power? Plug in the Flashloader, switch to your Race Gas file and drive it like you stole it. Once your done, simply plug the Flashloader back in and switch back to your 93 Octane file.
You can read more about GIAC Software and see dyno charts on our website: http://www.awe-tuning.com/page...ichip
Best of luck! Let me know if I can help you with anything. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: (siren001)

Software is the best way to make it breathe. It increases boost and optimizes timing. Its equivalent to taking normal breathes vs big deep breaths. BTW, turbo cars have exhaust manifolds (not headers) and you can't even buy one for the TSI. Blow-off valves don't increase performance at all and have nothing to do with helping a turbo breathe. Intakes only net a few hp and downpipes see the biggest gain only after software.
And for $599 you get a fully loaded ECU from APR, correct? I paid $499 for the fully loaded software suite at the 2008 H2Oi... first TSI to receive the flash that wasn't a test car. You have to pay $1050 to buy all the same functionality from GIAC.

Plus you don't have to carry around a flashloader... you can change programs through the cruise control stalk.
If you only do one thing to these motors it had better be performance software.

Thats not really a fair comparison since you're comparing a sale promotion from APR to GIAC's regular MSRP. Compare the MSRP of both companies products and they will be very similar.

Definitely the programming. It's a huge bang for the buck. APR frequently has the $599 sale and it's VERY nice having the cruise control program switching with the stock mode and race gas mode. The only other performance uprgrade i'd do before a bigger turbo is an upgraded intercooler here in south florida. The intake temps get mighty hot. cheers! mike

The APR software upgrade is incredible, as I'm sure all the software upgrades are, but I have to warn you, my '09 Wolfsburg could not handle the added power/torque, the clutch slips pretty bad (6k miles on the car). Might want to try the free trial before you buy, to make sure your clutch is strong enough.

But everyone knows that APR is on sale more often than it isn't. $599 might as well be their MSRP for the fully loaded suite. Only the impatient people are unfortunate enough to pay the full amount.
