A few years back I sold off my 95 VRT Jetta Coupe. I got myself into a 04 R32, and while it is a very fun car to drive, its still not a MK3. I've always had the idea that I would build myself another coupe. I guess now is a better time than ever eh?
Pics of the old coupe, built by Doug Pauly of Reflex Tuning MANY years ago. I sold it off to a guy from West Virginia. I have no idea whats going on with it these days.
UPDATE: 4/23/13
Ahem....well its been awhile. Some pics from where things are at as of today. The goal is paint in the next 3-4 weeks.
UPDATE: 4/10/11
Got some time this weekend to start working on the passenger side. The drivers side inner structure is all welded in.
UPDATE: 3/22
Made some more progress today. Scored a keyless entry module and mk4 interior cabin box for $15 at a local junkyard. Came home and put a few hours into getting the driver's side inner structure adjusted. On to the pics...
A couple of the pieces I have stashed away for the build
GTI door on
After some trimming and test fitting, the inner structure starts going into place
The inner structure is only tacked in place right now. Here are a couple interior shots of where the inner piece from the window meet with the Jetta C pillar:
Threw the outer shell on to check the door gap, looks pretty good:
I've got work tomorrow and Thursday. I'm hoping to put some more time in on Friday.
Keep the comments coming guys, its motivating :beer::beer:

The new build's base is a 1997 TDI, base model. No sun roof, manual windows, etc. I picked up a 97 GTI (rot issues
) but perfect for what I needed. Some pics of the first couple days work:
The odometer on this hoss rolled over, shows 1300ish miles, LOL. It definitely looks like a car that has 301,300 miles, but drives REAL solid.
Drilled out a BUNCH of spot welds
Fixing up the rust issues as I go along. This is where the B pillar used to attach:
All cut out:
