Just like the new BMW's... that theres a cable conector that you just snap the iPod and you can control the iPod from the steering wheel radio buttons...
Any solutions??

Well you can change tracks but that's about it with the Icelink+ from Dension. Changing playlists must be done through the headunit. They don't have a cable for the Navigation unit yet.

See the new thread over on audiworld.com. Seems like there will be a new iPod accessory kit for many of the new Audis, but you may be stuck if you have a glovebox cd changer (nav+ I think has this) or satellite radio. I think you could just chuck the CD changer from the nav+ and use the iPod only though.

Is seems like audi is coming out with this. It dosent say anything about text and the radio in the PDF dosen't display text either.

are any of these connectors compatible with the new DVD Nav (RNS-E) for the B6/B7 A4; the new A3; and the C5 A6??..

I know the A6and A8 are on the fibre optic system. The B6 I think works fine. The B7and A3 I have no idea. But I am really willing to find out for all of us. Let me know if you can give me any info.

the new RNS-E is a DVD-based navigation radio that has a similar user interface as the MMI system found on the new A6 & A8..
the RNS-E is availble in the US in the B7-A4, the new A3, and the Allroad (which is based on the C5-A6).. the unit for the B7-A4 can be easily install in a B6-A4 and the unit for the Allroad can be installed in a C5-A6, and older Allroads or even an B5-A4 (with a little work)..
the RNS-E is not compatible with CD-changers, TV-tuners, etc for the older radios or CD-based Nav units.. therefore in most cases the existing AUX-IN modules and iPod adapters that interface with the CD-changer connection do not work with the new RNS-E..
there are different units for the US and Europe.. both systems can be installed in the US, but there are some differences.. most notably satellite radio capability, the US units are fully satellite radio capable -- there is no satellite radio in Europe.. the european system has been out longer and there is an ICE>link available for the EU unit, it is unconfirmed if it works for the US unit..

Thanks for the info. Looks like my cassette adaptor may be going the way of the dodo. Questions:
1) Anyone know the specific AudiWorld link for this new item (I couldn't find it)
2) Anyone know how much this new Audi iPod adaptor will cost, installed?
3) The charger I currently use causes a "hum" - - proportional in pitch to the engine's RPMs. I *presume* they've gotten around this with the new OEM Audi iPod adaptor?
