1) When is the GTi due for a remodeling?
2) Kbb (kelly blue book) talks about late availability of telematics...what are telematics?
3) In 2000 or maybe 2001 VW offered cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. I just looked at some '02's and they're all on the stupid stalk again.....GRRR. What happened? Why'd they change?
4) Whats going to be different on the '03s?
Thanks in advance

Re: Newbie Questions..... (Boxholdr)

1) No one knows for sure, yet. Some say 2004/05. Search for MKV for rumors and "spy photos"

2) Telematics are things like On Star, where your car has a button inside, you press it and you can talk to someone when you get lost, or lock your keys in the car they can unlock it via cell or satelite. You can also use it in emergencies if you breakdown or have an accident. It can track your car. All sorts of stuff.
3) You can still get the buttons on the steering wheel, but not usually in a GTI. The GTI usually comes with the sport 3-spoke steering wheel. Usually you need an automatic tranny on a Golf or Jetta to get the multifunction wheel. But it's not impossible to find one on a GTI.
4) Dunno.
Hope that helps!

Hrm - 5-speed Jetta, with the multi-steering wheel. I think it's part of the leather package, rather than your transmission.

1) Probably 2005, but we don't know.
2) On Star
3)The multifunction steering wheel comes with the leather package on the Jetta. It has nothing to do with the transmission. Don't know anything about the GTI though.
4) I think a few color changes are the only differences on 2003s. There are no body changes, no engine changes, nothing big.

A new rear valence and better sport seats for the GTI. (Don't know about the other Mk IV models)
