I have had the same problem for a couple of years now. However, it has become a pain now because I'm due for a SMOG check. I just failed earlier one today. Everytime I clear it, PO411 Secondary Air Injector Incorrect Flow Detected, it will stay off until the next time I start the car after it has sat for awhile; overnight for example. Then the next morning it comes right back on. I attempted to clear it, but apparently you will fail the SMOG if the car's ECM/MIL is still in the process of running the OBD self tests. Go figure!!
The fuse is fine, and I can hear the pump start. Sounds like a mini jet engine. How I put an end to this? Can someone provide a copy or link of some sort for FREE documentation or procedure to help me troubleshoot and emilinate this problem? I am really desperate! My car is 1996 VW Jetta VR6. Thanks!!

Re: (ShadyUpInSmoke)

that code generally means, small leak, cracked vac line, sticking secondary air valve, if you take it to the dealership they'll know what to look for. i see that code all the time, usually cracked secondary air line. just takes the right equipment to fix it

P0411 is secondary air injection. Its the pump that attached to the lower intake manifold on the driver side right where it meets the upper intake manifold. There is a plastic line that goes from the pump to the back of the engine bay, where you will find a vacumn line that runs to a sensor to the left of the coolant and brake booster by the coil. There is another vacumn line on that sensor that ties into the brake booster vacumn line (ties into upper intake mani on driver side). Check both vacumn lines and also make sure the hard plastic line that goes from the pump to the rear is not cracked and still connected. Mine had come disconnected and I threw that same code for a while.
Hope that helps http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif Feel free to PM or AIM me for more info.

Re: (b1m2x3)

There is a vaccuum line that runs underneath your intake manifold to the combi valve. This line, because of the heat, dry rots and cracks. If you have replaced all other vacuum lines and fuses, pump, relay check good it is probably that vac line. All other are easy to access except for that line and combi valve.
