Re: Rarest mk3 items Post (awwsheeet)

there is nothing really Rare about the MKIII unfortunatly there won't be a demand for these cars like the corrado now has. (As you can tell byt the escelating prices of Corrado's)
here are some rare examples of North American MKIII's
In 1993 VW released a Turbo Diesel MKIII Golf
Now most people wouldn't look twice at this car but the Car had NA spec textured top Bumpers and holes in the fenders for European Turn signals that are blocked off with a plastic cover with the Wolfsburg castle symbol.
Also in Late 1993 there was one year very short production run of 2.0L GTI's Most were red they had GTI on the door Trim and 15" Imola wheels that are painted black in the centre these look like the Regular GTI 5 spoke wheels but these wheels are forged nto cast and have a polished lip. these wheels and this car is unheard of anymore.
while the 1994 dusty mauve 2.0L gti had a run of abotu 1200 the 1995 Dusty Mauve VR6 GTI is extremely rare they were only sold in Canada and there are only 55 sold with things like Theft and Accidents this model is well untder 20 units left
the Harlequin is also a rare car I think abotu 200? VRclowncar owns a very nice example of a Harlequin

in 1993 Jettas sold in Canada have a "Convex" Dash trim bist instead of the regurlar curvy ones.

thats all I know for now

umm hello???? A59 - probably the best example of the most rare OEM VW mk3 bits ever fabricated... lest we forget.
in the aftermarket world, the cult society bumper kit is pretty damn rare, just ask Mr. Ginster himself, Frankie Newman.

Took the words right out of my mouth http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

A59 wasnt made by VW... it was hired by VW. And I think it was made in the USA not Germany. Or at least the engine was. And I dont think the engine was anything VW really... it was all custom. From what I remember.

Still a rare mk3 item though, right?

we talking rare-aftermarket, or rare-OEM? Cause half the rare-aftermarket items that have been listed so far aren't rare at all, and most of the rare-OEM items listed so far are VERY easily found...in Europe, or through suppliers. But money talks.

So the carbon-kevlar pieces of the A59 "kit" weren't produced by VW Motorsport? And as far as I knew, the would-be A59, if it had ever seen the light of day, would have employed some sort of VW Motorsport specially-tuned 16v motor. Am I mistaken?

huh and its for sale too 45 shipped to your door!!!! It looks so far foward because the seats are all the way back.

I think the Music editions are really rare.
The Child restraint bar for GTIs which acts like a factory rear strut bar.
French Fogs were rare then someone started making re pros contact Cullen
The euro center consel
the Cd holder that slides in where the center cup holder is. I have the tape one and that seems kinda of rare as well but not as rare (sell my tape one for 10!!!

Well the engine was in fact made by some company called SNS I think which made the engine. I tried finding info on the motor which mad 300hp and was a 2.0 16v. But I think the motor was so unique it shared no parts with VW. And Im not sure if VW motorsports was in charge of the project. Im sure they had a hand in it... but it was such a wild concept I think it was made from very "small" companies as a demo before hand. So therefore they never really had any part numbers or anything which would make it VAG stuff. A59 = Area 51
